23/07/2018 | 16:00 Tarifa (CZ) | Tarifa Cetacean Course
Biology, Ethnology and conservation of cetaceans
The objective with this course is to provide a basis for those who until now had not been interested in this animal group, but also to delve into certain topics for those who already have certain notions about cetaceans.
The courses are always divided into two blocks: the theoretical and the practical. In the theoretical we address the issues: evolution, ethology, characteristics, recognition, conservation ... In the practical block we want the students to be able to recognize different species of cetaceans by sightings from land and boat, as well as give more details and resolve doubts about those species that we see in the sightings.
The course is held in Tarifa Spain because, although it is something quite unknown, even by students of Biological, Environmental or Marine Sciences, the Strait of Gibraltar is a privileged spot for whale watching, mainly from the boat. In addition, the city itself and the surroundings allow the course to be an experience that goes beyond a few classes on an interesting topic and some boat trips.
In and around Tarifa Spain, we offer some apartments for a pleasant stay on one of the most beautiful pieces of our coast. Enjoy!
