- 11380 Tarifa, Cadiz
- Tel. 956 627 065
The Souk is the right address in Tarifa for those who look for excellent kitchen in an upscale ambience.
The furnishing and the food give you the impression to be in Morroco. On the menu you'll find dishes like Cous Cous, Tajine, Fallafel and Houmus.
But also curry dishes are listed, in case you prefer the indian/asian kitchen. All in all a very nice fusion of different food types.
In the ground level they have a lounge with wireless internet access and in the bottom level the comofrtable restaurant.
The Souk is situated in the residencial area by the beach of Los Lances and is mostly very well visited. We recommend to reserve a table for the evening.

Santa Fe has a reputation to be one of the best restaurants in the historical center of Tarifa.
The customer will experience perfect service and superb quality of the kitchen.
The home made crepes (either sweet or salty) should be recommended, but also meat and fish are offered in french cooking style.
The vine card is larger here than in most of the other restaurants, so if you are demanding with vines then this is your place.

Tapas - small plates of Spanish delicacies
Los Melli - Tapa Bar

- Address: Calle Guzman El Bueno, 16
- 11380 Tarifa, Cadiz
Los Melli means in Spanish "the twins", which says everything about this great tapa bar. The two twin brothers running this place look absolutely identical and rank amongst the best chefs in town.
The bar is very small, but convinces with fantastic food, which is usually being consumed standing at the bar. In the summer they put some tables out on the street, but you have to be quite early to achieve one of them. After 21:00 it gets really crowded here.
You'll find Los Melli below the town hall in the historical center of Tarifa. If you can't speak any Spanish, then you'll have to point your finger on the tapa of your choice in the glas vitrine on top of the bar to order.

Anca Curro - Tapa Bar

- Address: Calle Moreno de Mora, 5
- 11380 Tarifa, Cadiz
- Tel. 658 854 012
Another little place with only a wooden bar instead of tables is called Anca Curro. This is an oasis of Andalusian sining pleasure!
The decoration is unique: entire hams are hanging from the roof, posters of bull fights are covering the walls together with hundreds of other little gadgets that would take too much time to list here.
The owner is from one of the famous Spanish families focusing on the breeding of the Iberian black pigs. We assume that this will be the best pork you'll have ever had in your life.
Make sure to order the Solomillo Iberico (pork filet), it's incredible!
This bar is located 100m from the Puerta de Jerez (the arch way into the old center) in a little side lane of the Calle de la Luz. Look out for the two metal horse's heads besides the entrance door.
