It begins at the Isla La Paloma and stretches until Hotel Dos Mares without any interruption. Playa Los Lances is the longest beach in Andalusia.
Most of the tourists who just want to sun bath and swim will be on the Los Lances beach, as most of the beach accommodations are situated along this beach and infrastructure of bars, restaurants and other services are best here.
In the summer months (July until September) any kind of water sports is prohibited here to preserve this part for the swimmers. Any other time of the year nobody obeys this rule and kitesurfing, windsurfing or surfing is being tolerated. All the kite centers and windsurf stations are located outside of town for this reason.
Especially the first 300m next to the Isla La Paloma are great for catching waves when the winter swells reach this corner of the Tarifa bay.
